Learn Moreabout PBS online sponsorshipELADIO: I been in Puerto Rico for 22 years already, and I'm never moving.
I wished I was born in Puerto Rico.
My parents are from campo-campo la Pierda, you know, like, to get to the nearest highway's, like 30 minutes, you know.
Even though I didn't live in Puerto Rico, I always had love for my island.
But, you know, I was in Alaska, bro.
I was so far, like, you know, I couldn't really, like, feel what it was to be "Sentirse Boriqua," you know.
And so I started living in Puerto Rico like when I was ten, you know; I didn't know Spanish.
I, I learned very quickly, though.
Like my first concert was a reggaetón concert.
I knew every song word by word.
Didn't know what they were saying, probably not fully yet, but I just remember the energy, you know.
In Puerto Rico, we have like a TRL here.
It's called Video Max.
It was just all day putting reggaetón videos, and I would not know what they were talking about.
But you know, I would like the the music.
It was fire, you know, so I would kind of motivated me more to learn the language, too.
I really think that my fans really started responding, you know, when I dropped SEN2 KBRN on my first of the series because it was only me.
I didn't know I not doing any featurings.
I did a lot of very personal music that a lot of people weren't doing at that time, talking about, you know, mental health, all these other things.
I did that.
I do a lot of trap music.
I love trap, I love rap, hip hop, rap.
I love, you know, writing.
I think, you know, trap and rap are easier for me to, to really, you know, express what I want to say more than reggaetón.
Because in reggaetón, it's only so much you can say in a reggaetón song, you know; like, vulnerability really let my fans like enter my world.
And once they entered the kind of stayed there.
It's very stressful sometimes, but the stress is all worth it, you know, putting music out.
Being able to share your world with other people and then to relate to that world and just come together.
You know, I think that's like the best part of music: that, that community that we have built throughout these years, you know, Sauce Boyz, Sauce Gang, and like, it's, it's more than music, you know, it's, it's a movement.
You know, sure, I got my, my, my, my trap songs.
It's very ignorant music just, you know, to jump... I do it for shows, you know, thinking about how many mosh pits I can, you know, do in this show, you know.
But then I got songs that, you know, I really put my mind and heart to it, my soul into it, that it's, it's me, you know, relaying a message or, or have a message I have to get out to my fans.
You feel me?
The more and more I know I live and my kids grow up, the message that I have to give is more important.
You know, people always say, oh, it's a parent's job to raise their children and all that.
But you cannot say that we do not have the influence over these kids.
In all what we do what we say.
They want to dress like us.
They want to be like us.
They want to talk like us.
They want to rap like us.
At the end of the day, I just want to be someone, you know, positive to look up to.
And not even musicians, like people in general, you know.
If I could inspire at least one person a day, that's amazing.
We're inspiring thousands of people a day, you know, even, like, even if I'm only an artist, you know, I do have my music that I do say, okay, this is really going to help people go through things.
I do think about those people who are working on 9 to 5.
What music can I do, you know to to help them get out that bed, you know?
What music can I do to help this athlete, you know, get in the zone, you know?
Being able to inspire other people to do great things.
That's the coolest thing in the world.
