lawmakers listen up the latest Rutgers Eagleton poll finds New Jersey residents overwhelmingly support reforming the State's decades-old liquor license laws almost all residents 92 percent favor allowing breweries more ability to serve food another 63 percent of those surveyed Field restrictions should be lifted on the number of events those breweries can hold each year now the Eagleton poll goes on to find 71 percent support giving small towns extra liquor licenses so more restaurants can serve alcohol right now towns are capped at one license per 3000 residents 57 percent back allowing towns with inactive licenses to transfer them to another town within the county there is a divide though over proposed tax credits for current license holders as a way to make up for a possible decrease in their value those polled were split 45 percent in favor 42 percent opposed to that idea poll director Ashley koning says despite the backing residents are skeptical they'll see change we see that even across partisan lines new jerseyans pretty much support many of these measures nobody has too high of a trust in government nowadays anyway and so you know uh if we just look at the numbers on the Outlook of the state New jerseyans are kind of pessimistic [Music] [Music]
